We’re excited to announce an immediate opening for a highly motivated Legal Assistant (Part Time) to support our law firm’s attorneys on a part-time basis.
Thickstun Luo LLC is a growing law firm with clients in Illinois, Indiana, and Kentucky. Your role with the firm would be to support our Labor and Employment Law practice based in Bloomington, Indiana.
We represent employees in labor and employment law matters, including employment discrimination and unpaid wages. We represent employees who faced discrimination in the workplace, including discrimination based on their race, color, religion, sex (including pregnancy), national origin, disability, age (age 40 or older), or genetic information. A sizable part of our practice also involves claims of unpaid wages, commissions, and bonuses. We file our clients’ cases in state and federal courts in Illinois, Indiana, and Kentucky, and before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC).
Our Labor and Employment Law practice has an immediate opening for a Legal Assistant (Part Time), with a general expectation to work around 20-25 hours per week (but with some flexibility). There is the potential for this role to be primarily remote for the right candidate. But at least some work in person is required. Authorization to work in the United States is required.
Starting pay is $16.60-$20.00 per hour depending on qualifications and experience.
What You'll Do:
• Answer phone calls from potential clients
• Respond to website inquiries from potential clients
• Assist attorneys with case preparation and document management
• Conduct legal research and maintain client files
• Prepare correspondence and legal documents
• Drop off and pick up mail from U.S. Post Office (Bloomington), FedEx (Bloomington)
• Coordinate schedules and manage case deadlines
• Provide exceptional client service and support
What We're Looking For:
• Associate's degree or paralegal certificate preferred
• 1-2 years legal experience (motivated entry-level candidates welcome)
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and related software
• Strong organizational and communication skills (written and oral)
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
